Are you prepared for disputes with the CRT?

About this Event

Under the New Societies Act, all society act and cooperative associations act disputes will be going to the Civil Resolution Tribunal. This workshop will help societies be prepared for this major change. The CRT has jurisdiction to resolve many Society and Co-operative disputes. Come learn about the steps involved with the CRT and what you can do to prepare your society. Ideal for board directors and senior managers of registered not for profits.

About the speaker:

Over the past 20 years Rachel S Forbes has accumulated a breadth of experience working and volunteering in the non profit and charitable sector. She has worked on environmental, Aboriginal and Indigenous legal issues, including national law reform campaigns, provincial policy changes, and specific Nations's rights and consultation cases. ore recently she has worked at a non profit advocating for responsible investment practices by institutional investors and as a consultant for non profits on fundraising, governance and strategy issues. Rachel was called to the bar in BC in 2009 and currently holds non practicing status. Rachel identifies as she/her and as a settler. She is grateful to live work and play on the lands of the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, and Musqueam Nations.
