Description
Product road mapping is an art, one that requires a strong pulse on the state of the business, your customers and stakeholders. Road maps are meant to provide a clear path towards reaching the business objectives giving transparency and predictability to anyone involved on the team. But how often have you heard “Hey, we are agile, we don’t need a roadmap”; or the opposite “Hey, this feature was on the roadmap, but why haven’t you delivered?”. In this session, you will learn how to handle both of these situations and everything in between, by diving deep into the basics of how to conduct road mapping sessions. This session is based on practical learnings from running road mapping sessions with very large teams, several times a year, for many years.

Meet the Speaker: Angela Govila
Angela is a seasoned Product Management Executive with leadership experience from Capital One, Ernst & Young and General Electric. Her background includes serving as the Head of Product for Capital One's Small Business Digital Product Development team. Prior to that she was the Engagement Manager for several complex multi-year transformation projects in financial services at EY and the prior to that, the Technical Program Manager at GE. Lately, she has been responsible for driving strategic product planning, prioritization, scaled agile program management and execution of the strategic roadmap for the e-commerce and digital banking at Capital One. Angela has delivered on great results for the company including launch of flagship checking products under the Spark Business umbrella, now recognized as the leading deposit product by Money Magazine. She is also considered a bold thought leader in the space of product management and has been sought as a panelist and speaker on the topic.
Angela’s passion extends into empowering women in the workforce and has volunteered heavily for the cause. She is a graduate of the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University and is currently based in Seattle. She is also a Product Management Coach for University of California, Berkeley’s Executive Education program, runs an Artificial Intelligence meet up in Seattle and a podcast called “Leadership Vibes” focused on Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion. In her spare time, she enjoys long backpacking trips in the remote wilderness, endurance biking, traveling and spending time with her family.
