Event description

Description

Sign language interpreting is one of the highest-risk professions for ergonomic injury, according to a study conducted by Rochester Institute of Technology. Many interpreters recoginize the physical stress that our profession imposes, but may not consider the care required for the WHOLE interpreter- physically, mentally, and emotionally.

This highly interactive workshop is designed to engage the interpreter in the exploration of holistic self-care. Participants will learn how to take an integrative approach to self-care, how food choices affect overall health and well-being, how to develop a measurable and modest self-care plan, and how to follow that plan daily.

You are encouraged to bring any of the following items you currently own: A mat or towel, a foam roller, a spoon (metal or wooden spoon prefered). Also, please wear comfortable clothes.

Lunch on your own. There is a Whole Foods 5-8 minutes away.

Presented in English. Please send any questions or accomodation requests to Jason@JasonWinters.Coach or text/call 443.831.8420

Interpretek is an approved RID Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This general studies program is offered for 0.65 CEUs at any content knowledge level.
