Common FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There is no age limit to this conference but we do not have any facilities or programmes for children or teens under the age of 15.

To attend this event, you need to identify with a known Edmund Rice school or group or be a known friend to the Edmund Rice Network.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is plenty of parking at St Kevin's College. People travelling within the South Island will most likely opt for road travel to attend as there is no commercial airport in Oamaru.

For those travelling from the North Island to attend, flights to Dunedin or Christchurch are both good options. Road travel must be arranged from one of these destinations to St Kevin's. If you need help with this, please contact the Edmund Rice Office or 09 638 7000 as we may be able to arrange a carpool situation.

Be aware of travel times when booking flights. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to travel from Dunedin airport to St Kevin's in Oamaru and likewise, 3.5 hours to travel from St Kevin's to Christchurch airport. Any flight booking must bear this in mind and also allow for adequate arrival and check in times.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

As this event takes place in winter, North Islanders should be aware that it is usually much colder in the South Island and need to bring adequate winter clothing. Hats, scarves, gloves, even hot water bottles for the night, have all been appreciated items for those not used to the cooler temperatures.

Alcohol cannot be brought to the event though some beer and wine is available for adults at the Saturday night dinner.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Inquiries about the programme can be directed to either:

Cathy Harrison 021 860 143 or 03 960 7670 (Christchurch)

Damaris Kingdon 021 662 657 or 09 638 7000 (Auckland)

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes - if you can't make it for some reason, your can transfer your ticket to someone else that would appreciate attending.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes you can.

Contact: Damaris Kingdon 021 662 657 or 09 638 7000 (Auckland)
