Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Take a break and share your love of reading with other PGRs. The book chosen for our next meeting is The Muse by Jessie Burton. It deals with hidden creative talents, global politics and art history. “A captivating and brilliantly realized story of two young women: a Caribbean immigrant in 1960s London, and a bohemian woman in 1930s Spain, and the powerful mystery that ties them together … Rendered in exquisite detail, The Muse is a passionate and enthralling tale of desire, ambition, and the ways in which the tides of history inevitably shape and define our lives.”

While the paperback doesn’t come out until the end of December (which will still leave you time to read it before we meet), the hardback and ebook versions can be found for reduced prices online, or keep an eye out for second hand copies in local charity shops.

Read the book beforehand then join our discussion on themes, characters, and anything else which comes up. You certainly don’t need to be a literary scholar! Bring your lunch to Westmere and indulge in some book chat with fellow readers.
