Westlake HS "Shark Tank" Pitch Night
Fri, May 19, 2017, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM CDT
6-7 pm Come Early to See Wild Card Teams and Vote for One to Present
7-9 pm Formal Pitches to Investors
Background: More than 150 Westlake High School students who were registered in the Inaugural Incubatoredu class - a rigorous entrepreneurial class based on the Lean Startup method - have formed teams and have been testing their business concepts all year. See https://www.eanesisd.net/academics/innovation/wbi
How Pitch Night Works: The top four teams are pre-selected to present to professional investors May 19th, as well as one wild card team voted on at Pitch Night. Investors judge the teams that merit funding and teams are invited to enroll in next fall's Incubator Accelerator class to start their business.
From 6-7 pm, all student teams get one more shot to become a finalist and formally present to investors at Pitch Night. These are the wild card teams. Attendees will have the opportunity to see these teams informal pitches and vote for the "Wild Card" finalist team. These lucky students will then join the four pre-selected teams and compete for funding.
*Investors/business leaders wishing to fund a student team LIVE, contact Kim Allen at email@example.com to pre-register for a Live Bidding App.
**Must be present to vote for wild card teams.
