Western Women's Tracking Conference
Event Information
Description
AS OF AUGUST 25th, THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT... IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST PLEASE CONTACT MEGHAN WALLA-MURPHY at www.meghanwallamurphy.com/contact. Thank you!
Welcome! We are excited to invite you to gather with extraordinary women for a weekend of tracking wildlife, ecology, and your internal landscape. Point Reyes National Seashore offers incredible biodiversity of animals, habitats, and culture. As we wander this National Park that is unique in its mixed landscape of both wild spaces and working ranches, we will delve deep into the human wildlife interface. Come listen to the elk bugle, see signs of river otter play, map your inner landscape, and learn about the waters that are the life blood of this sea shore.
We love trackers of all skill sets, so no need to be experienced! Packing list, directions and more information will be sent 2 weeks prior to start of program.
Instructors:
Caitlin Williams- Wildlife Tracker and Educator
Kate Lundquist- Director of OAEC Water Institute
Meghan Walla-Murphy- Wildlife Tracker, Ecologist, Author, Educator
Michelle Vesser- Master Gardener and Healing Through Foods
Lodging and Meals:
For this year’s gathering we will be staying at the Clem Miller Environmental Center, settled in a beautiful valley where bobcats frequent, grey foxes sit on the porch, and ravens regal us with their news. Rustic cabins offer individual bunks and a newly designed bath house allows for steaming hot showers. A beautiful lodge will serve as our meeting and dining place, while evenings are spent under starry skies or around a campfire.
Our meals will be prepared by Jamie Shulander, chef and baker extraordinaire. We are committed to local and regenerative practices that work for the health of both humans and all the other species we share our space with. We can provide gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, but let us know well ahead of time so we can try to accommodate your needs.

Cost:
$550 per person after July 1st
This cost includes all lodging, meals, and instruction- this cost may seem high, but we are dedicated to honoring our instructors who have spent decades honing their craft by paying them a living wage for the Bay Area. In addition, we do our best to support local farmers and ranchers by providing, fresh, regenerative and healthy food for you all week. Thank you for your support as we strive to diversify and strengthen our local economies.
However, we do not want cost to be the reason you do not join our gathering. Please contact Meghan Walla-Murphy regarding payment plan and work trade options. www.meghanwallamurphy.com/contact
If we reach a minimum of 18 people we will be offering two work trade positions at half price. Those work trade folks will help Jamie in the kitchen.
