About this Event
Saw Mill River Audubon Board alum David McIntyre will present this exciting tour of California birding spots including: rangelands where Mountain Plover, Ferruginous Hawk, Sage Grouse and pronghorn roam; salt ponds and marshes of San Francisco Bay: home to a tremendous variety of shorebirds, wintering waterfowl, and threatened species; and the Pacific Coast with coastal specialties and offshore pelagics. David will also touch on Audubon efforts in the Bay Area.
David has been a birder for over 40 years and has published several ornithological studies including a year-round bird survey he conducted in Hastings-on-Hudson in the 70’s. He served on the Saw Mill River Audubon board in the late 80’s - early 90’s, serving as Sanctuaries Chair and on the Personnel Committee. He also served on the Board of Hudson Valley Audubon (now Hudson River Audubon) while a high school student, and is a past President of Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society in Silicon Valley.
