About this event
Intended exclusively for an academic audience, this virtual western regional premiere will feature an advance screening of the film, followed by a discussion with Rev. Tommy Hinson and Stephanie Summers.
A documentary film, For Love of Neighbor: Politics for the Common Good tells the stories of three individuals—Sen. Tim Scott, Justin Giboney, and Sarah Imboden—who, on different levels and in distinct ways, are seeking to engage faithfully in contemporary American politics. SPEAKER BIOS
Tommy Hinson is the rector of the Church of the Advent in Washington, DC. Prior to helping establish the church in 2007, he lived and worked in Boston, MA as a mental health counselor for underserved populations. Rev. Hinson attended Furman University and received an MDiv and an MA in counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is a native of North Carolina.
Stephanie Summers is the CEO of the Center for Public Justice, a non-partisan Christian think tank dedicated to advancing principled pluralist solutions to our country’s policy challenges. She is the co-author of a book, Unleashing Opportunity: Why Escaping Poverty Requires a Shared Vision of Justice, as well as a frequent speaker and moderator. Prior to her appointment at the Center, Ms. Summers spent 12 years with the CCO. She is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and now lives in Washington, DC.
