Western Pennsylvania Health Literacy Event
Event Information
About this Event
Healthcare Council of Western Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Health Literacy Coalition, is proud to host a western Pennsylvania health literacy event! Since October is Health Literacy Month, we decided it is important to hold an event in the area. Health literacy is defined as the degree to which an individual has the capacity to obtain, communicate, process, and understand, basic health information and services to make appropriate health decisions. During this event, attendees will learn about the basics of health literacy, unconscious bias, cultural humility, and how to apply health literacy techniques to their personal and professional lives.
The event will be held at Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sessions will take place in the Gailliot room in University Commons of Carlow University. A map and directory of Carlow University are posted below.
