The West Region Muster is all about fostering opportunity. If you are a veteran or mil-spouse entrepreneur, you’ll gain the network and knowledge you need to quickly grow your venture. If you are not a veteran, you will tap into the military entrepreneurial edge through new connections, perspectives, and inspiration.

During the Muster, we will also be celebrating the official launch of our San Diego chapter with a ribbon cutting ceremony!

Bunker Labs is a national network of entrepreneurs founded by military veterans to help other veterans and mil-spouses start and grow businesses. Bunker Labs’ Muster Across America Tour 2019 will travel to 7 cities across the country to showcase veteran entrepreneurs and energize local entrepreneurial ecosystems through large-scale events.

At the Muster Mainstage you will learn from expert talks and panel discussions with political, military, and corporate leaders covering topics such as procurement, technology, investment, talent landscape, and veteran social impact.

Ford Pitch Competition

Learn from Bunker member companies, veteran-owned businesses, and businesses as they share their opportunities, challenges, and how they've overcome them. This unique story-focused format highlights the human struggle of every entrepreneur.


Connect with members from across the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem. Gather with military entrepreneurs from across the west to talk about the day’s events, what you learned, and what you’ll do with your Muster experience.

Speaker Spotlight

Matthew Griffin, CEO, Combat Flip Flops

Matthew “Griff” Griffin is a 2001 United States Military Academy graduate commissioned into the Field Artillery. Between 2003-2005, Griff deployed four times to Iraq and Afghanistan with 2d Ranger Battalion as a Company Fire Support Officer. He planned and participated in over 100 special operations direct action missions. After departing the military in 2006, Griff worked in the defense sector that eventually led him back to Afghanistan to assist with medical infrastructure development. After witnessing the positive effects of economic growth in conflict areas, Griff co-founded Combat Flip Flops with a fellow Ranger and began the mission to manufacture peace through trade. Griff serves as the Public Relations manager for Team 5 as a means of continued global service.

Andy Williams, Co-Founder & CEO at Medicine Man, Co-Founder & Chairman at Medicine Man Technologies, Founding Partner at MedPharm

Andy Williams is among America’s most pioneering thought leaders and entrepreneurs in the legal cannabis space. As co-founder and CEO of celebrated retail cannabis chain Medicine Man, Williams has already fulfilled his vision of becoming “the Costco of marijuana.” As co-founder and chairman of the board of industry- leading consultancy Medicine Man Technologies, Williams has expanded his influence exponentially—helping entrepreneurs in other states via his extensive cultivation expertise and unparalleled business acumen. And now as a founding partner in phytopharmaceutical company MedPharm, Williams is investing heavily into the future of pharmaceutical-grade cannabis research.

Nikki Atkins Hartung, Managing Director and Regional Director of Consumer Banking and Chase Wealth Management for Southern California, JPMorgan Chase

As Regional Director, Nikki is responsible for the consumer branches and financial advisors throughout Southern California and the Inland Empire, managing over $27 billion in assets. In this role, Nikki and her team strive to fulfill the savings and long term financial needs of individual clients and small business owners. Working with bank clients to meet their everyday banking needs has always been the motivating factor for Nikki. In addition to helping her branches serve Chase clients, Nikki is responsible for the development of her team, representing Chase in the Southern California community, and creating job opportunities as the retail branches continue to grow. Under Nikki’s leadership, the San Diego market has moved from #4 in market share to #1 in seven years.

Nikki’s passion for military causes began when her brother enlisted in the USMC in 1999. Born and raised in Houston, her first trip to San Diego was to attend her brother’s graduation from boot camp at Camp Pendleton. She eventually moved to San Diego in 2009 at the time of the Washington Mutual/JPMorgan Chase merger to oversee Southern California. The large military presence in San Diego became the perfect place for Nikki to make a difference and give back to the military community. Within JPMorgan, Nikki is the Executive Sponsor for Chase’s Voices of Employees That Served (VETS) program and is involved in numerous internal military initiatives.
