West London Mencap Training Academy Open Evening

Welcome to the West London Mencap Training Academy Open Evening!

Come along for a relaxed, in-person open evening where you can discover all about our Supported Internship and Pre-Supported Internship programmes at Mencap Training Academy. This open evening will give you the opportunity to meet staff, ask questions about job coaching and support day-to-day, classroom learning, and what support is available for travel, adjustments or learning needs. It’s your chance to see how we help young people take their first steps into the workplace and plan for a positive future.

We provide a structured work-based study programme for 16–24-year-olds with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that blends on-the-job learning with tailored support from a trained job-coach, while you also study relevant skills (such as English, maths or vocational qualifications).

You’ll discover the kinds of real workplace placements available. For example, young people our our Supported Internships have been based in retail, administration, catering, customer-service and other roles. You'll hear how those placements help build confidence, employability skills, and improve chances of moving into paid work.
