Free Professional Development Training for Home Visiting Staff Only
(that serve families with young children (prenatal through age five)

Staff of home visitation programs, FBBH, HFA, HIPPY, NFP, and PAT are specifically encouraged to attend. Staff from other programs whose PRIMARY method of service delivery to families with children (prenatal - 5 years of age) is through home visiting are also invited to attend. (TAPP registered)

A minimum of 8 to 10 people must be officially registered in order for the Training Institute staff to provide an instructor-led training.  We encourage you to collaborate with other home visiting programs in your area in order to increase attendance at the trainings.

Module 26:  Early Signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder:  Recognizing Referring & Supporting Families in Home Visiting 
9:00 - 11:-30 am 

OVERVIEW:  
As individuals going into the homes of families and helping with child and family development you will have relationships with families that are special and able to see first-hand how a child is developing.  Home visitors play an important role in recognizing early signs of autism spectrum disorder and guiding the family towards getting help if concerned about the child not meeting developmental milestones. 

By the end of this training, Home Visitors will be able to:
• Understand what Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is & recognize the early
   warning signs

• Describe the importance of referring children to their Primary Care Physician
   for Early Intervention and following up services as soon as a developmental
   issue is suspected

• Support parents by providing helpful resources

Module 23:  How to Manage Your Time Well and Increase
Organizational Skills 
12:00 - 2:30 pm 

 OVERVIEW:  
One of the greatest skills a home visitor can have is the ability to manage time effectively. As difficult as the job can be, many people depend on home visitors to be prompt and efficient. This module discusses all the best practice for maximizing the time allotted while accomplishing your visit objectives and tools to become better organized. 

By the end of this training, Home Visitors will be able to:
Understand the importance of being organized and managing time wisely
Identify the main obstacles to effective time management and know how
   to 
overcome those obstacles
Employ tools and techniques to further develop an effective time management   process to enhance productivity and reduces stress
