Description

COURSE OVERVIEW: This 2-day course is intended to train K–12 administrators and all school staff on best practices for developing Behavioral Intervention Teams (BITs), conducting threat and risk assessments, active shooter response, and K-12 reunification. Participants will learn best practices as they relate to threats, pre-attack indicators (red flags), and the pathway to violence. Participants will learn the importance of developing a sound foundation for Behavioral Intervention Teams including creating a multidisciplinary team made up of your organization’s key players.

TARGET AUDIENCE: County and District Administrators, K – 12 Administrators and Staff, Perspective Team Members, Law Enforcement

KEY CONTENT: This course provides educators with the training and resources to effectively assess campus threats and create a BIT.

DAY 1: M.E.R.I.T Active Shooter, K-12 Reunification

DAY 2: Foundations of Behavioral Intervention Teams (BITs), Conducting K-12 School Threat & Risk-Assessments
