We're at it again! Let's rock this Hoop House!
Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (CDT)
Shelby County School (SCS) Hoop Houses are a school run, self sustained "garden". The produce that will be harvested at our CNC hoop house will be integrated into our award winning Central Kitchen. Here many lunches are made from this harvest and shared with the over 150,000 students in the SCS System.
Our first Hoop House was built in 2012 at Grahamwood Elementary School. We envision numerous Hoop Houses to sprout throught our SCS over the next few years. Hoop houses are a part of the teaching garden concept and help to support our efforts to serve locally grown produce in the schools.
Come join us as we build our next Hoop House together - laying a solid foundation for heathly choices for the children of SCS!
