Event description
Come explore why we are called to welcome the stranger and how we can respond to God's call

About this Event

What can churches do to help the local immigrant population? Join us at Creekside Community Church for a morning to sit at the table together and discuss what we know, resources already available, and how to leverage those resources across churches.

Not sure where you stand on this issue? Join us at the table and let’s talk.

This half-day event is aimed at churches to hear what others are doing and to understand what some local organizations do to welcome the stranger. The main session speaker is Matt Soerens, author of Welcoming the Stranger. He is also the US Director of Church Mobilization for World Relief and national leader for the Evangelical Immigration Table. You will also hear brief introductions on opportunities to reach out to immigrants including representatives from local law enforcement, Baker Interfaith Friends, and Rural Women’s Health Project. There will also be display tables available so you can talk one on one about these and other opportunities.

This is a free event and lunch will be provided.

Please RSVP by May 27. If you have any questions, please contact Porter Horne at porterh@windstream.net OR 386-497-3375.
