The 2000s–the decade that brought us questionable content on MySpace, low-rise jeans, and the allure of the pink Motorola Razr sandwiched between the war on terror and the global financial crisis. Welcome to the Aughts serves as an homage to the nostalgia of the decade through the vision of fiber artists while noting the trauma caused by the American cultural sphere. “That’s hot.”

About the organizer
The Snips is a feminist fiber arts collective founded by Shannon Twohy & Natalie Novacek. The Snips welcomes female-identifying makers and non-binary/gender fluid makers who are comfortable in a femme space. The focus of our work is the intersection of womxn, handicrafts, and pop culture.
