Building on our welcoming activities performed in previous years, the 100 Black Men of Madison will endeavor to expand our reach of encouragement and garner the participation of community partners to stage the 2018 a series of “Welcome Back To School Receptions” at targeted elementary schools of the Madison Metropolitan School District, Tuesday, 4 September.

Those schools are;

  • Leopold Elementary 2602 Post Road, Madison, WI 53713 – classes begin 7:45am
  • Mendota Elementary 4002 School Road, Madison, WI 53704 – classes begin 7:45am
  • Falk Elementary 6323 Woodington Way, Madison, WI 53711– classes begin 7:45am
  • Glendale Elementary 1201 Tompkins Dr., Madison, WI 53716 – classes begin 7:45am
  • Hawthorne Elementary 3344 Concord Avenue, Madison, WI 53714 – classes begin 7:45am

And...

  • Allis Elementary 4201 Buckeye Rd, Madison, WI 53716 – classes begin 8:30 am
  • Kennedy Elementary 221 Meadowlark Dr, Madison, WI 53714 – classes begin 8:30 am

Each selected school has the highest concentration of African American Students and the highest concentration of disadvantage students within thirty two elementary schools of the Madison Metropolitan School District.

Given our desire for the most beneficial outcome of these activities, individuals who are not known to you or the 100 Black Men of Madison cannot participate. For security, only verified, registered greeters may serve as participants.

Note, all greeters are asked to arrive at 7:15 AM for the schools that begin at 7:45 AM and should plan to depart at 7:55 AM. Similarly, for the schools that begin at 8:30 AM, all greeters are asked to arrive at 8:00 AM and should plan to depart at 8:40 AM.

Additionally, community partners are requested to wear outerwear that portrays the organization they represent, i.e. T-shirts, polo shirts, jackets, etc.
