Event description

Description

On Saturday, November 4th, join the City of West Hollywood as it launches its new cultural plan, honors local artists, and raises a glass to all those who contributed to the cultural planning process! There will be light refreshments, music, small WeHo Arts: The Plan items to take home, and information on WeHo Arts’ current programs and artist opportunities.

The event will take place alongside the launch of artist Maria del Carmen Lamadrid Zamora’s ArtEverywhere project. ArtEverywhere is a one-day balloon mapping project with local teens to document potential sites for public art using weather balloons and other household objects. It is one of three creative data visualization projects that aim to increase the visibility of WeHo Arts and The Plan. Information on the two other projects, created by artist Sean Noyce and artist team YoMeryl, will also be available. There will also be a preview of Ruben Esparza's exhibit, QUEER CALIFAS: LA LATINX ART.

The City of West Hollywood’s WeHo Arts Program delivers a broad array of arts experiences through the City’s Arts Division including: Art on the Outside (temporary public art), Summer Sounds, Winter Sounds, WeHo Reads, Free Theatre in the Parks, Arts Grants for Nonprofit Arts Organizations, Library Exhibits and Programming, One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival, and Urban Art Program (permanent public art).
