Friends Who Are Going
Event description

This is an ongoing weekly classe designed for both beginners and regular Chakradance participants. Leave your worries, with your shoes, at the door and surrender into a dynamic dance and art creation journey back to your authentic self. Moving to music specifically created to resonate with each chakra, you are guided into your own inner dance of release and re-connection. As a practice Chakradance helps you to feel more balanced, more joyful, and able to radiate your own true colors out into the world.

Base chakra

The base chakra is essentially about our basic human survival. It’s about being grounded and present in our physical bodies. It’s about having our feet firmly planted on the earth, standing on our own two feet. It’s about finding our trust-worthy tribe.

Sacral chakra

This chakra is the center of our emotions and feelings, our sensuality and sexuality. The sacral is the home of the divine feminine energy within us all. The part of us that is sensual, wild, playful, and creative ... the part that is live-giving, intuitive, tender and passionate.

Solar Plexus chakra

The solar plexus is the home of the divine masculine energy within us all. This is the part of us that speaks directly, who brings reason and logic into our lives, and sets firm boundaries when needed.

Heart chakra

This is the chakra of love and compassion. This is the part of us able to walk through life with heart. Walking with heart means walking through life with loving kindness and generosity. It’s finding natural empathy and compassion for our fellow human beings (and ourselves). It’s treating our animal kingdom, and our planet, with respect.

Throat chakra

This is the chakra of authentic communication, expression and creativity. We use chant and dance to balance the throat chakra. When our throat chakra is balanced, we are able to creatively express our inner truth. We’re able to sing the song of our soul out to the world.

Third Eye chakra

This chakra is the home of our intuition, our sixth sense. There is a Rumi quote “Close both eyes, look from the other eye.” And that’s what this chakra is really all about. Our intuition is the ability to sense or immediately know something without logical reasoning or any real evidence. It’s being able to connect to a deeper wisdom, and understand things that are beyond the reaches of our conscious mind.

Crown chakra

This chakra is where we have the intention of re-connecting with our soul, to open ourselves so that we can hear the whispers. When our crown chakra is balanced, we open to the wisdom of a higher power. We have a relationship with the God of our own understanding. We know the importance of being able to ask for help through prayer, meditation or intention.

Is this a drop-in class?

Yes; you are welcome to drop in when you can and drop-in tickets ($20) are available on the door. Doors open at 6.45pm so come early to secure your spot. The healing effect is greater, though, if all seven chakras are explored in depth so I'd recommend purchasing a 7 Class CHAKRADANCE™ Pass so you can dance through each of your 7 major chakras. Passes expire on the 9.12.17.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Chakradance is for everyone from young adults through to old-age. As each participant finds their own dance, you can move as softly or energetically as you like. Each person can take it at their own pace and fitness level.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Maheno Room, 171 Oxford Street Bulimba, opposite St John the Baptist Anglican Church and behind Max Brenner Chocolate Bar. There is free off street parking available behind the church. The venue is easily accessable via bus and City Cat.

What can I bring into the event?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. We usually dance in bare feet. Remember to bring a bottle of water, yoga mat and/or cushion.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please contact me via email giselledipaolo@gmail.com with any questions.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are not refundable; however you can transfer your ticket to a friend or family member if you email their name to me by 10am on the day of the event.
