Weekend Warrior Paddle League (WWPL) -- SIGN UP BY OCTOBER 16!
It’s time to sign up for the 6th season of the WWPL. The league is sponsored by the Hinsdale Platform Tennis Association (HPTA), which is dedicated to continuing the growth and level of play among paddle players in the Hinsdale area. The WWPL is designed for experienced players at all levels. Teams are divided into competitive flights, typically, Flight A (Series 1 – 8), Flight B (8 – 16), and Flight C (16 – 30).
To avoid conflicts with Fall sports, the 2016/2017 season will start a few weeks later than normal, and feature an opening Team Kickoff event on Oct. 22, followed by 14 dual matches, and end-of-season playoffs. We will again play on Saturday afternoons, with start times of 1:00, 2:30 or 4:00, and of course, refreshments and camaraderie to follow. The full schedule accommodates holidays and local tournaments, and will be posted on the website in a couple of weeks. We will again use www.netlineup.com for scheduling and Team Management.
Membership Requirements: The WWPL is currently open to members of the following area clubs with platform tennis facilities – Hinsdale Golf Club (HGC), Salt Creek Club (SCC), Butterfield Country Club (BCC), Chicago Highlands (CH), Ruth Lake Country Club (RL), Hinsdale Park District (HPD) and Edgewood Valley Country Club (EVCC).
If you are not already a member of one of these clubs or HPD, then you need to join HPD to participate in the league. Use the following link to register on line http://www.villageofhinsdale.org/pr/default.php or obtain a form at http://www.villageofhinsdale.org/pr/download/2014paddleform.pdf or at Hinsdale Village Hall.
Registration and Draft:
With additional courts this year, registration is OPEN (no limits, so invite a friend), BUT YOU NEED TO SIGN UP BY OCTOBER 16!
Teams will be determined by a draft, which will be held during the week of OCTOBER 17.
Subs can sign up anytime. An administrative fee of $20 will be charged.
Captains are needed, and fees are waived for your assistance.
Players will be drafted among the three flights, based on the number of players. There will be 8 - 10 on a roster and 6 players per team will play each week. Each player is registered in www.netlineup.com to easily track availability, schedules, weekly match-ups and results.
This year, we are using Eventbrite.com for league registration. However, if you are having problems, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:

Other – We welcome comments on your past experience with WWPL and any suggestions to improve the program. Also, provide any notable availability issues.
League Fee: The fee is $100.00 for HPTA members and $110.00 for non-members, which covers match balls, refreshments, prizes and administrative costs.
