DESCRIPTION

There are three important aspects of meditation: mindful attention, open awareness and loving kindness. By practicing these, we can let go of negative mental patterns and expand our heart and mind, bringing about joy, peace and inner freeedom. Anam Thubten will teach and guide participants in developing these three aspects of meditation and share Buddhist wisdom on working with our thoughts and emotions.

Retreat

Dharmata Foundation is happy to invite you to participate in this weekend retreat. The retreat will be held at The Old Wilson Schoolhouse, in Wilson, Wyoming on Saturday and Sunday, April 27th and 28th from 10-5 pm each day, with an ample break for lunch. To honor the sacred container of the retreat, everyone is asked to attend the entire retreat, concluding on Sunday at 5 pm. We expect this retreat to fill to capacity. Please register as soon as possible. If you have registered and have to cancel, please let us know by April 2nd to receive a full refund.

Public Talk

There will be a public talk on Friday, April 26h at 7 pm at Old Wilson Schoolhouse Community Center in Wilson, Wyoming. Cost is $15 at the door and no one turned away for lack of funds.

Costs

The cost for the weekend retreat is $150. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Pre-registration is required. The location of the retreat venue is Old Wilson Schoolhouse Community Center 5655 Main Street, Wilson, Wyoming.

Seating

Bring your own cushions if you have them. There will be some extra cushions available. Will you need a chair? Please indicate your preference on the registration form.

Volunteers

Holding a retreat depends on the suppport of many volunteers prior, during and after the event. Please consider offering you time and good heart to make this event possible. If you would like to volunteer, please indicate how you might help by emailing Sue Bullock @ jhflowerco@me.com.

Anam Thubten grew up in Tibet and at an early age began to practice in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the founder and spiritual advisor of the Dharmata Foundation, teaching widely in the U.S. and occasionally abroad. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is also the author of the Magic of Awareness and No Self No Problem. Through his personal experince on the spiritual path. Anam Thubten brings alive the timeless teachings of the Buddhist tradition and invites everyone to participate.
