Week Three: Steve Parker ft. Sam Pluta
Overview
Join us for Week Three of a weekly concert series. Experience the activation of Steve Parker's latest solo exhibition, A Funeral for a Tree, followed by a performance by composer, laptop improviser, electronics performer, and sound artist Sam Pluta.
A plant-like, valve-driven instrument—built from salvaged brass, medical breathing bags, and sheng reeds—anchors a weekly concert series, each performance activating the sculptures in new ways. Guest artists from Austin’s experimental music community include Januibe Tejera, Soundmap Ensemble, Henna Chou, Alexa Capareda, Heloise Gold, Sam Pluta, and a special guest.
The performances are financed in whole or in part by the City of Austin's Elevate Grant Program, the Texas Commission on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
NOTE: This is a 40 minute standing performance. Space is limited. Doors will close promptly at 6:30pm and will not reopen until the performance has concluded.
If you require seating, please contact savannah@ivestercontemporary.com to request accommodations.
