Greenfingers: Habitat Restoration
Most Wednesdays, please check schedule above
Who: Volunteers of all ages are welcome; minors under 18 require a signed waiver and children under 12 require an accompanying adult unless prior approval is obtained from the workday supervisor. Groups may contact Joanne McFarlin, firstname.lastname@example.org, for their own special program dates/hours.
What: Volunteers help with habitat restoration work such as removal of invasive plants, installing native plants, and building habitat structures.
When: 9:00am -11:30pm (we will have Acterra staff on site most of the day, so if you would like to help at a different time, please let us know and we can make arrangements).
Where: Meet at 9:00 am near the big red barn at McClellan Ranch, 22221 McClellan Road in Cupertino. If you come later than 9:00 am, please call my cell phone at (206) 334-3751 as we may be at sites in either McClellan Ranch or the adjacent Blackberry Farm.
Parking: Please park in the dirt field accessed from McClellan Road on the other side of the creek from the main park entrance. It looks a bit like a private residence, but it is not - it is a part of the park.
Please bring: A reusable water bottle and dress for outdoor work (sturdy shoes and long pants recommended). We provide gloves and tools. Minors under 18 must bring a waiver form signed by a parent.
When you complete your registration for this event, you DO NOT need to print a receipt or ticket...even though Eventbrite tells you to.
If after you have registered, you find you cannot attend, please contact email@example.com so that your place will be available for another volunteer.
Acterra Stewardship Program
Acterra Stewardship helps restore degraded habitats to promote healthier, more biologically diverse ecosystems, and uses habitat restoration as a vehicle to educate and inspire adults and youth to understand and appreciate the natural world - both its beauty and the important services it provides.
