Event description

Description

This Quiet Writing group is open to all UT graduate students. Members will meet weekly in the Perry–Castañeda Library (PCL), Room 2.402A, for 6 weeks, beginning Wednesday, February 7 through Wednesday, March 21. The group will not have a scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 14, during Spring Break. Please note: this group requires punctual attendance at meetings for all four weeks. By registering for this group, you agree to attend all four sessions.

This group will begin with a 10-minute conversation to check in on your progress and set writing goals for the coming week. Next, we'll spend 50 minutes writing quietly together.

Requirements: Attend each meeting, commit to focusing only on writing projects during the session, and set weekly writing goals.

About the group leader:

Tom Lindsay earned his PhD in English from UT Austin in August 2015. He is currently an adjuct instructor at UT’s McCombs School of Business. He coordinates the UWC’s Course Specialist Consultant Program and supports Sara Saylor in her efforts as Coordinator of Graduate Student Services. He is currently researching strategies for assessing and improving both programs. When he’s not working, he’s usually jogging around Town Lake, cooking at home, or playing board games.
