There will be networking and refreshments before the 7:30 PM event. Get out and meet fellow DC, Maryland, and Virginia Creatives. Trade business cards. The person next to you may be a resource for your next project. Explore and discuss with your creative peers about what's new in production and post-production in the DMV community, and then get your questions answered about editing and post.
Dan Montgomery, Imagine Products
Dan Montgomery started his career as a mechanical engineer from Indiana’s prestigious Rose-Hulman Institute for Technology, working for 10 years in industry with electronics, engines and ancillary products. In the late 80s he earned a Professional Engineering license and spent 5 years as General Manager for a high-tech, software based, engineering consulting company in Indianapolis. He and his wife Jane founded Imagine Products, Inc. in 1991 with the concept of applying software to video production workflow.
The company was twice honored as one of the state’s top 100 fastest growing companies by Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. In 2006 the company introduced the first Macintosh viewer for Panasonic P2 media. Since then it has released various offloading, viewing, transcoding and archiving applications to support the transition to HD digital workflows. ShotPut Pro 5 was nominated and made it to the shortlist in 2014 for the TVB Awards. Dave Helmly, Adobe Systems
Dave Helmly is the Senior Manager for Pro Video for the Americas Adobe Systems Incorporated.As the Senior Manager for Pro Video for the Americas at Adobe, David Helmly manages a Senior Field Team specializing in Pro Video/Audio production workflows for film and broadcast in North and South America. Helmly also travels abroad giving lectures and participating in various industry advisory councils and panel discussions.
Helmly has worked for Adobe for nearly 20 years and has specialized in digital video and digital imaging products for more than 25 years.
Prior to Adobe, Helmly worked for a digital video pioneer, Radius Inc, a well-known hardware company developing digital video and digital imaging accelerator products for Adobe's award winning line of software. Sean Mullen, Rampant Design Tools
Sean Mullen is a three-time Emmy Award winning visual effects artist with over sixty feature film and television credits. Sean has shot and created VFX elements for network shows, feature films, private hollywood libraries and has created content for many of the major stock companies His work has touched such acclaimed Hollywood and television productions as Charmed, Ally McBeal, NCIS, Felicity, Nip/Tuck, Idle Hands, Lake Placid and Any Given Sunday. Sean was inspired by his editor friends to create the first Rampant Design Tools - elements for his friends to mix and match and drop on their timelines that would instantly add a unique look / flavor to their videos. Chris Haeffner – OWC - Product Development & Integration
Chris started his 12 year career with OWC in technical sales and support. He quickly establishing himself as the mass storage specialist and became a driving force behind OWC's continued expansion into SMB and enterprise level storage, most recently, with the OWC Jupiter product line. In addition to development of high-level storage, Chris also adapts SMB enterprise storage concepts for the consumer/mainstream markets and drives the expansion of OWC's product testing and quality control procedures. Chris earned his Bachelors of Arts from Western Illinois University.
Jeff Greenberg, Jeff Greenberg Consulting
Jeff I. Greenberg has nearly two decades of experience as a PostProduction consultant and Master Instructor (trainer for other trainers) for Adobe, Apple, and Avid, specializing in the areas of editorial, workflow, compositing, sound, color grading and compression.He’s the Owner of J Greenberg Consulting http://JGreenbergConsulting.com and for a decade was the Principal Instructor for Future Media Concepts. Consistently voted as one of the top seminar speakers/interviewers, audience’s feedback includes depth of subjects covered, approachability and student-centered teaching that helps keep them up to date on industry standards.
Jeff teaches seminars at events such as NAB, IBC, CES and Inter BEE. He's the chair for the Editors Retreat, an annually held exclusive getaway for editors.
Jeff is a published author of several books on the subject of editing and post-production. He recently finished a book on Adobe Premiere Pro Studio Techniques (Adobe Press.) Jeff writes for various blogs and creates training materials for Lynda.com and macProVideo.com . Jason Druss, Blackmagic Design
Jason Druss is a Product Specialist at Blackmagic Design. With a decade of experience in cinematography and color grading, Jason has worked with top agencies and clients like Comcast, Universal Music Group, and Groupon. We are a Washington DC-based community of content creators, collaborators, and storytellers. We are an Adobe User Group and Blackmagic User Community covering Adobe CC Video & Audio, Blackmagic Design, DaVinci Resolve and Fusion Studio, with a focus on on-set and post-production workflows. And, of course, we love camera hardware, and all things digital, as well as support gear.
Our mission is to engage in collaborative learning experiences through physical meetings, socials, and live-stream events. We aspire to inspire creativity through curiosity and share knowledge across all digital mediums.
Our target audience are editors, sound designers, filmmakers, digital imaging technicians (D.I.T), colorists, sound engineers, producers, directors, camera operators, DPs, videographers, photographers, illustrators, designers, and creatives... anyone interested in learning and sharing knowledge.
