Event Details

We’ve all heard about healthcare reform, but do you know about The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Institute of Medicine's Future of Nursing report and how it will transform nursing education? This webinar features the groundbreaking recommendations of the report as it relates to education and professional development. Find out why these educational changes are important to the nursing profession, healthcare, and to your individual practice and explore how you can make a difference.

This is a Gannett Education CE event. Participants who attend the webinar and complete an evaluation will earn 1.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education.

Dr. Joan Warren is the Director of Professional Practice and Research at Franklin Square Hospital Center, Baltimore Maryland. She is known for creating innovative professional development roles to promote formal and informal nursing education in addition to establishing an evidence-based practice and research program for nurses. Having had an instrumental role in achieving Magnet® status in her own hospital, she is now mentoring sister hospitals in achieving Magnet® designation. As a researcher, Joan is a co-author on two grants from the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission totaling $2.6 million to advance the professional work force through strategic academia-hospital partnerships. These grants are designed to advance staff nurses from associate degree/diploma or BSN to the master’s level and prepare them to serve as hospital- based clinical instructors to support nursing schools upon degree completion.
