By popular demand, the Social Fundraising 2.0 webinar that was first presented on behalf of the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN) in February 2012, and has since been presented twice at the Center for Nonprofit Management in Los Angeles, has been recut into a 100% nutritional-value, 2-hour webinar.

Social Media for End-of-Year Fundraising is designed for nonprofit marketing and fundraising pros who want to reach their end-of-year goals with the power of social media. According to Charity Navigator, nearly one-third of all charitable giving happens in December. In fact, Network for Good, the nation’s largest online donations processor, reports that15% of all donations in December happen on Dec. 31! Here’s one more golden nugget: the average dollar amount of online donations increase by 56% in December.

In this 2-hour webinar, participants will come away with best practices in social media fundraising with proven results, which will include:

  • Maximize your nonprofit’s Google for Nonprofits grant for end-of-year giving;
  • Use data obtained from your social media accounts to develop a social donor profile;
  • Replicate the best of the Obama Campaign's social media and email strategy;
  • Use your social donor profile to create dangerously-precise free and paid internet ads;
  • Prepare for the use of every type of social fundraising tool: the Web, social media, email, mobile, and more; and,
  • Execute a social media campaign in second-half of December with (mostly) free social fundraising tools, measure results, and adjust accordingly.

Before We Get Started

Participants are strongly encouraged to maximize the webinar’s value by taking the following steps in advance of the online training:

  • Create a free account on GuideStar to update its profile on your nonprofit, which Google and others will use to verify your 501(c)(3) status. Click here to sign up.
  • Apply for Google for Nonprofits grant. Click here to complete it in 10 minutes. (Verified 501(c)(3)s almost always receive this grant award. Although an award can arrive within days, it can take several weeks to receive a response. Avoid delays, apply now.
  • Update your email database by adding as many new supporters as possible and deleting old email addresses. (Webinar will include suggestions on low-cost email marketing platforms for nonprofits.)
  • Optional: Create a mobile database that includes each supporter’s ten-digit phone number (area code+phone number) and first name.

Speaker’s Bio



Filiberto Gonzalez is founder of Social | Impact Consulting, LLC, a Los Angeles-based full-service consulting firm that specializes in social media strategy and nonprofit fundraising.

After a twelve-year career in the nonprofit sector, which included serving as a director of a citywide public awareness initiative and chief development officer, Filiberto founded Social | Impact Consulting in January 2011. His goal was simple: harness the power of social media for the greater good.  Since then, Filiberto has been a featured speaker at conferences throughout the country, including Social Media for Nonprofits in Los Angeles, Social Media Week San Francisco, Social Media Tulsa, and is a frequent trainer on social media at the Center for  Nonprofit Management.

In September 2011, Filiberto was invited to represent small business owners and the social good community at the first-ever LinkedIn Town Hall with President Obama, which he live-tweeted from the front row, and had the honor of meeting President Obama afterward.

Filiberto earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California, where he concentrated on the study of community, organization, planning, and administration, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge,
