Interested in learning more on how to best support your transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) clients? CHOP’s Gender and Sexuality Development Clinic, in partnership with the Department of Human Services, will host four separate Webinar discussions on specialized topics when supporting TGNC clients.

These webinars are open to any mental health care provider working with TGNC clients in the state of PA*.

Please review the descriptions below - when regsitering, please note the Ticket Type to ensure you are registering for the section(s) you are interested in attending. All Webinars will occur from 12pm - 1pm on the dates listed below:

Medical & Psychiatry Support (January 7, 2020): This webinar is hosted by Adolescent Specialty Care Provider, Dr. Zachary McClain, and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Dr. Anderson Stills. During this 60-minute webinar, Drs. McClain and Stills will discuss guidelines for medical transition and psychiatry support.

Sexual Health & Education (January 21, 2020): Sexuality is often a compenent that is missed when working with TGNC clients. Providers might make assumptions about their clients sexuality or feel ill-equipped to navigate questions and support regarding sexual health. In this webinar, sexuality educator and consultant, Erica Smith will review common misconceptions on sexuality topics for TGNC clients and how providers can create open and supportive spaces for TGNC clients to express and discuss their sexual health.

K-12 Grade School Support (February 4, 2020): As the Education Coordinator, Samantha King works alongside school districts to help support students transition and create gender inclusive environments. During this talk, Samantha will cover best practices for supporting for transgender students, educational challenges for LGBTQ students, and the framework for creating gender enclusive school environments.

Complex Cases (February 25, 2020): Dr. Linda Hawkins is the Co-Director for the Gender & Sexuality Development Clinic and has been working with TGNC youth and families for over 20 years. In this webinar, Dr. Hawkins will discuss therapeutic strategies for navigating complex cases with youth and families.

*Special Note: These trainings are geared towards providers who already have a strong foundation of Gender 101 knowledge. If you are new to this topic and want to build your skills, please consider signing up for one of the in-person trainings (offered thoughout the state of PA in 2019-20).

While we are unable to provide CEU credits for the webinars, you will receive a certificate of complete for your records.
