No matter if you are in a strong U.S. market - like Silicon Valley, Chicago, New York, Boston or in the international market - it is important to understand the legal ramifications in launching here versus there, and why it is so important you explore the ways edtech companies can trip up when incorporating their businesses.

There are thousands of edtech innovators work on creating new and useful processes and technology. Does this mean that they should run to the patent office when the first opportunity to do so pops up to ensure they are protecting their work? The reality is that many companies have already entered the market and put their product out for public consumption too early. Yet, this doesn't mean they can't protect their intellectual property and less their liability exposure.

In this session, participants will:
  • Identify the requirements of filing patents
  • Outline what to do when developing a new edtech innovation
  • Examine what IP means for edtech companies
  • Explore ways to protect your IP - no matter where you are in development
  • Discuss what to do before you put your edtech product on the market

Yet, you're not sure what is most important.
