Event Information
Description
Shale Gas Revolution:
Energy for America's Future?
Presented by Trevor Smith of Gas Technology Institute
Hosted by Dean Whittaker of Whittaker Associates, Inc.
Over the past few years, the shale gas industry has experienced a drilling boom. While the industry’s success seemed to have happened overnight, this “revolution” has been 30 years in the making, and it will radically transform global energy supply and demand. The U.S. has an extremely large natural gas resource base, and experts predict that by 2035, over 50% of the nation’s natural gas supply will come from shale gas production.
Further, the expansion of the shale gas industry will have great economic implications. It means job creation for firms aiding with the infrastructure requirements and production process, and increased tax revenues for the regions they support. Will your community be one of those regions?
