Speaker

Sandra Finestone, PsyD Back to top

A breast cancer diagnosis in 1983 changed Sandy Finestone’s, PsyD, life forever. Since then she has served the role of a patient advocate in many ways. Finestone has participated in educational programs, reviewed breast cancer research grants, designed trainings for other advocates, and facilitated support groups both locally and internationally. She has served in many capacities with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, both on a local level as president and race chair of the Orange County Affiliate, and on a national level as vice chair of grants. She also served on the steering committee of Advocates in Science. In her role at a comprehensive breast center, Finestone counseled hundreds of women with breast cancer from diagnosis and decision-making through recovery and follow-up. Her knowledge and expertise are now available to all women, no matter where they are on their breast cancer journey.
