Event description

Description

The only thing more nerve-wracking than getting that job offer is negotiating the terms and conditions of your job once you get the offer. And the only thing more upsetting than that process is being laid off later, thinking you have no opportunity to negotiate a decent severance package. Paul Levy and Farzana Mohamed are negotiation experts who've written books and conducted workshops on both topics: How to negotiate your first job and Don't sign anything: A guide for the day you're laid off. They'll join us to provide perspectives on both sets of issues.

By the end of the webinar, you’ll be able to:
- identify a strategy to approach negotiating job offers & severance deals
- be alert to the very important gender issues involved in representing yourself well, whether with a male or female counterpart
- leave both kinds of negotiations with a sense of accomplishment, along with better outcomes

Paul Levy has had an extensive career as chief executive of several organizations, from running a world-class teaching hospital to managing the multi-billion dollar clean-up of Boston Harbor. He presently advise corporations around the world on negotiation strategy.

Farzana Mohamed is founder and principal of a consulting practice that advises organizations on change management, employee engagement, and process improvement. She previously served as Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Planning for a ocmmunity hospital, and she was a member of a core management team at MIT involved in setting up two international institutional partnerships.
