Instructor Profile: All sessions of the Summer Webinar Series will be taught by Michelle Nusum-Smith, owner and principal consultant at The Word Woman LLC. Michelle has nearly 20 years of nonprofit experience, including board, chief executive, fundraiser/grant writer, program staff and volunteer. Her training participants benefit from Michelle's real-life experience coupled with her continued professional development through memberships with Grants Professionals Association, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Maryland Nonprofits. In 2016, Michelle became licensed to offer consulting services for the Standards for Excellence® program by completing an exclusive professional development initiative that gives independent consultants the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to work with nonprofit organizations across the country interested in learning about and implementing the Standards for Excellence code. She has extensive experience in many areas, concentrating on organizational development, board recruitment and development, fund Development, and strategic planning. She is a graduate of the Honors Program at Coppin State University where she earned a BS in Management Science with a minor in marketing.
