Watershed groups can be an excellent community resource for municipalities seeking to improve water quality and comply with their MS4 requirements. Join Local Government Academy and Sustainable Pittsburgh on Tuesday, June 18 at 1:00pm for a webinar featuring the Allegheny Watershed Alliance, a program of the Allegheny County Conservation District, and learn about their success working with local watershed groups and municipal leadership to improve collaborative outcomes. Rebecca Zeyzus and Amy Miller will discuss the common activities of watershed groups, potential issues and their solutions, and how municipalities can work together with watershed groups to improve alignment on relevant Minimum Control Measures and water quality work. Topics will also include increasing opportunities to leverage grant opportunities, sharing cost and time burdens, improving community engagement, and green infrastructure.




Rebecca Zeyzus is the Municipal Stormwater Program Lead for the Allegheny County Conservation District and is the Executive Director of the Allegheny Watershed Alliance. She has a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in water resources and has worked in water quality testing and preventing the spread of invasive species.

Amy Miller is the Watershed Specialist and Watershed Program Lead for the Allegheny County Conservation District. She has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Biology from Clarion University.
