Webinar "Diaspora-friendly media policy and practice"
Event Information
About this event
WHY
At least 18 million Europeans live outside their country of origin.
They cherish European rights and freedoms and are most directly affected when those are restricted or endangered.
Yet, their voice is still too often not duly heard. Their perspectives and civic potential can be better mobilised for the benefit of Europe.
Media work with and for European expatriate communities is a key element to this effect.
#STANDWITHUKRAINE
In reaction to Russia's aggression in Ukraine and in solidarity with the Ukrainian resistance efforts, we have included a special look at the role of media work in Ukraine and by expat media portals.
We will call for support for Ukrainian media and highlight the contribution of expat platforms to their work - providing information, fighting disinformation and rallying for support to Ukraine
WHAT
Join our webinar to exchange views and gain insight into the strategic, academic, practical and financial aspects of diaspora-friendly media policies and practice!
The exchanges will lay ground for elaborating proposals to strengthen the capacity of media to better engage with and for mobile Europeans.
