Jonathan Kinnard, a native of Nashville, TN, moved to California after completing his Masters in Management from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. With a passion for public service, he started working for an insurance company that specialized in helping union members and working class families across America. Within 3 short years, his performance led him to become the regional manager for all of Orange County. Two years later, his office was awarded Top 5 Workplaces in all of OC by the OC Registry in 2017. This success in business management led Jonathan to make the big leap into owning a business of his own and in July of 2019, he launched Coffee Del Mundo, the first non-european coffee establishment here in South LA. Coffee Del Mundo is a 100% dairy free establishment owned and operated by people of color. It works directly with small farmers around the world to import their beans and present them to the world. When his coffee shop is not in operation, he turns the space into a create studio where he hosts events for the community and conducts business coaching for other small business owners. Past events have included, anti-anxiety sound baths, mental health brunches, yoga, art experiences, and more. In January 2020, Jonathan joined the team at the Vermont Slauson Office of Economic Development to expand his abilities to aid other minority business owners to success.
