Lessons Learned and Promising Practices in AI/AN Outreach and Engagement


 

Overview

This will be an open community of sharing with subject matter experts from Tribes, Tribal health facilities, Urban Indian Health Programs, State Exchanges, Federal Agencies and community partners who implement and conduct outreach on key provisions of the ACA. Discussion will focus on effectively leveraging and marketing and outreach activities to increase enrollment and assist AI/AN people with the Affordable Care Act provisions that impact them. 

Purpose 

  • Improve health outcomes among AI/AN communities by providing educational resources and materials to AI/AN health advocates.
  • Provide participants with information on available programs, services, and resources for AI/AN’s
  • Increase awareness of HHS programs and services
  • Leverage HHS resources through cross-regional collaboration and partnership with other federal agencies
  • Engage federally-recognized Tribal leaders in Region 10 to assess needs, share resources, and offer assistance.
