CPAC Anti-Racism Webinar Series (13):Promoting Healthy Relationships and Preventing Racial Bullying
In response to the recent rise of anti-Asian racism during the Covid-19 pandemic and to help Asian Canadians better deal with racist harassments, CPAC has assembled a group of experts from across North America to present a series of educational webinars for the community in both English and Chinese. The topics include: Racism and Its Visible and Invisible Forms, Discrimination and Human Rights, Responding to Racist Harassments and Attacks, Bystander Intervention, Preventing Racial Bullying in School, and Racism, Hate Crime and Personal and Property Safety.
This webinar series has been well received by the community. At the request of the audience, we are presenting another round of the seminars and workshops. These webinars will also be recorded. The recordings will be edited and shared at the end of the series.
This workshop, Promoting Healthy Relationships and Preventing Racial Bullying, will be presented in ENGLISH with simultaneous interpretation into CHINESE (Mandarin).

PRESENTER: Samuel Kim, M.Sc.
Samuel Kim has been extremely well received as a presenter at Queen’s University and out in the community. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the Clinical Psychology program at Queen’s University, under the supervision of Dr. Wendy Craig, Scientific Co-Director of Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network (PREVNet), Canada’s authority on research and resources for bullying prevention. His research focuses on how school environments can be shaped to better support the needs of vulnerable youth, especially youth who experience bullying. His dissertation will focus on the factors that influence youths’ decision to seek help for bullying.
Samuel currently works directly with children and youth in various clinical settings. He has a strong passion for working with diverse populations and aims to integrate cultural factors into his clinical work with multicultural populations. He is also active in promoting mental health awareness among educators within the Kingston Community as a project lead in the Clinical Psychology Outreach Program at Queen’s University.

为帮助社区应对Covid-19疫情期间频繁抬头的针对亚裔的种族歧视问题,加拿大中国专业人士协会(CPAC)在美国和加拿大聘请了多位资深专家,通过视频为大家举办一系列的中英文讲座,内容囊括种族歧视及如何应对与处理的方方面面,例如种族歧视和仇恨罪及其表现方式,遭遇种族歧视如何应对,目击者如何正确协助,校园种族歧视和霸凌行为的应对和处理等等。
本系列讲座举办后,受到广泛好评。应听众要求,我们再次邀请讲座专家为大家讲解有关问题。
11月18日,周三晚8点,CPAC将再次为您带来反种族歧视行为讲座:倡导健康关系,防止校园霸凌。讲座主要内容将包括:
1. 霸凌和种族歧视性霸凌的定义
2. COVID-19期间,种族歧视性霸凌的表现形式
3. 父母如何帮助孩子识别和解决霸凌问题
4. 解决校园霸凌行为的重点:倡导健康的同学关系

主讲人:Samuel Kim
Samuel Kim是在皇后大学(Queen’s University)以及周围社区广受好评的优秀讲员。他目前正在皇后大学攻读临床心理学博士学位,师从Wendy Craig博导。 Craig博士是加拿大最权威的“促进关系和消除暴力网络(PREVNet)”负责科学方面的共同主任。Samuel的研究重点为如何塑造学校环境,以更好地满足弱势青少年(尤其是遭受霸凌的青少年)的需求。他的论文将重点探讨影响青少年作出决定、去寻求帮助克服霸凌的各种因素。
Samuel目前正在进行与青少年直接接触的临床研究。他对与不同族裔,不同人群的合作充满了热情,并致力于将文化因素纳入他与多元文化人群的临床工作中。Samuel还是皇后大学临床心理学外展计划的项目负责人,积极帮助金斯敦地区的教育工作者提高对精神健康问题的意识。
