Web Publishing @ Harvard: Challenges, Opportunities, & Case Studies
Following the success of the Digital RoundUp Live events, we’re pleased to partner with ISITE Design to bring you an informative panel discussion on web publishing. Speakers will highlight the strategic and practical approaches and accompanying challenges inherent to web publishing at Harvard and beyond.
The panel discussion will feature:
Mike Petroff, Digital Content Strategist, Harvard Digital Strategy
Mike will address tools and options to explore when publishing content to the web. In particular, Mike will present a case study highlighting best practices for tailoring and sharing content on social platforms, the role that analytics plays, and how both of these pieces can be harnessed to drive effective messaging and traffic.
Sarah Horton, Web Strategy Project Lead, Harvard Digital Strategy & Harvard Web Publishing Initiative
Sarah will discuss the Harvard Web Publishing Initiative (HWPI) – an effort to develop comprehensive, consistent, and cost-efficient web services for the University. Sarah will present a case study illustrating the benefits of a shared publishing platform, and discuss general challenges and opportunities in seeking a unified institutional web presence.
John Eckman, Managing Director for ISITE Design, Boston & Esten Perez, Director of Communications for the Harvard Institute of Politics
John and Esten will review the work ISITE has done with the Institute of Politics (IOP), including the JFK Jr Forum Microsite and the new IOP program site – and point to the strategic decisions underlying the new sites.
Refreshments will be served.
