|LAURA Mayes Laura Mayes is an Emmy-winning writer and VP at Marion, Montgomery Inc., a local ad agency where she leads the social media efforts for clients like the Shell Houston Open and Department of Defense. In 2007, she joined two friends she met through design blogs to start Kirtsy.com, a user-generated content aggregator for online news. Today, Kirtsy.com is a thriving community that has also launched a hands-on campaign to educate women about social media.|
|KAREN Walrond is an engineer/lawyer turned writer/photographer, and the author of Chookooloonks.com, a popular personal blog that was featured in the 2006 book Blogosphere: Best of Blogs. A former executive and veteran of corporate America, she is a seasoned public speaker, both on social media and women in leadership. She is the author of Through the Gadling Lens, a weekly photography column on the number 1 travel blog Gadling.com.|
