Weave a Scarf in A Day
Overview
If you want to try weaving just for fun to see how you like it (and we think you will!), don’t miss the Southern California Handweavers’ Guild popular “Weave a Scarf in a Day” workshop. In this workshop, you will choose from a variety of yarns with guidance from your workshop instructor, Sarah Troedson. She will guide you in warping a rigid heddle loom - a good loom for first-time weavers - and then guide you in efficient techniques to finish weaving your scarf by the end of the day!
We provide all yarn, looms, and equipment. If you would like to use your own rigid heddle loom, you may do so, but please let us know in advance.
ABOUT SARAH TROEDSON: Sarah started her weaving journey with a “learn to weave a scarf in a day” class at her local yarn shop in fall of 2014 with a rigid heddle loom. She instantly fell in love with this way of creating with yarn, bought her first loom, and has been weaving ever since. She typically weaves shawls, scarves, placemats, or table runners and thinks all yarn lovers should learn to weave. She has taught and mentored a number of topics throughout her life and is excited to use those skills to introduce rigid heddle weaving to new people.
WORKSHOP FEE: $75.00. Includes instruction, yarns, and use of a rigid heddle loom.
