Description

The Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor is bringing training to you!

Join us for a one day event focused on helping employers in the construction industry improve compliance with the Davis Bacon Act.

Hurricane Harvey affected so many communities in Texas. As federal funding is made available for rebuilding efforts, it's important to know how to comply with prevailing wages and other requirements. Come and learn more about the Wage and Hour Division, its enforcement of federal labor laws, and common violations to avoid in federal construction contracts. Private contractors, federal, state and local contracting agencies, unions, and workers from the construction industry are encouraged to attend this free event.

Don’t miss the chance to receive this valuable training, register today!

Topics to be covered include:
- Davis Bacon Compliance Principles
- Certified Payrolls
- Fair Labor Standards Act applicability in contracts including determination of independent contractor status,
minimum wage, overtime, recordkeeping and child labor
- Overtime Requirements Under the Contract Work Hours Safety Standards Act

Individual registration is required to attend this event as space is limited. Participants are encouraged to use the complementary parking garage at the HCC- West Loop campus.

This event is hosted by the Wage and Hour Division District Offices in the Greater Houston area in partnership with the Houston MBDA Business Center. For questions, please email arredondo.ana@dol.gov or garcia.lucia@dol.gov.
