Event description

Description

Human trafficking is an issue that’s becoming more prevalent in the world, and unfortunately the State of Illinois is listed 6th in the nation.

In an effort to raise public awareness on the issue, Art of Freedom, is hosting an event Wear Blue Chicago. This campaign asks the attendees to wear blue on Thursday, January 25th in order to promote Human Trafficking Awareness.

Art of Freedom (AOF) is a non-profit organization that creates awareness of human trafficking through art and fashion, providing lasting solutions and effective means for the prevention of trafficking and to empower victims who are most vulnerable and at risk.

Many people don’t realize how big of an issue trafficking is becoming in our own state. Because of this, AOF strives to make a difference in the community.

Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend, complimentary entry. Donation is optional, register tickets.

Jeanne Wrenn, past Policy Director for the Cook County State's Attorney Office lead the effort to make Illinois' anti-trafficking law the strongest in the nation will be present to speak.

We like to acknowledge one of our sponsor, Sugar Factory, will be giving away blue theme candy and swag bags to our attendees.

Live music provided by Johnny Alletto and Alouda.

Mesa Urbana will be providing appetizers and drinks to our attendees. Cash or credit accepted. http://www.mesaurbana.com
