We Stand With Nikki: A fundraiser with special guest Eve Ensler
Event Information
Description
Join us for a wonderful evening, featuring special guest Eve Ensler, the Tony Award-winning playwright, performer, activist, and author of The Vagina Monologues. The event will take place in the galleries of the historic Locust Grove estate, featuring food, drinks, live music, silent auctions, and an art show. The evening will conclude with an engaging talk by Eve Ensler.
All proceeds from this event will go to the legal defense fund for Nikki Addimando. After surviving nearly a decade of domestic violence, Nikki shot her partner and father of her children (ages 3 and 5) in a struggle to defend her life. Now she is charged with second-degree murder and faces a lifetime in prison—ripped from her young children, and subjected to the abuse and dehumanization of our criminal justice system. Your support for this event will go a long way toward securing justice and freedom for our beloved Nikki.
We cannot stand by and watch our broken justice system fail another domestic violence survivor. We cannot allow a lack of financial resources determine the outcome of Nikki's case. Nikki's motto throughout this ordeal has been: "Hope is the only thing stronger than fear." We would love for you to join us in being the light of hope for Nikki in her darkest hour.
Eve Ensler is best known as the creator of The Vagina Monologues, which has been translated into 48 languages, and performed in 140 countries. For this and her other plays, books, films, and activism, she has been awarded numerous honors including an Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award, a Gugenheim Fellowship in Playwriting, an Obie, a Lilly Award, and the 2018 Lucille Lortel Lifetime Achievement Award. She is also the founder of V-Day and One Billion Rising, global movements dedicated to ending violence against women and girls worldwide.
