Event description
Cycles. They are a fact of life, yet too taboo to talk about. Go public with your period for a conversation about adventures in menstruation

About this Event

Cycles are a fact of life for most women, a reality as common as the earth’s revolutions around the sun. Periods, menstruation, and sanitary products are stigmatized or ignored in American culture. In this event, we want to burst that taboo bubble and bring about a revolution in talking about periods: a normal, healthy biological function that most women experience each month. Through our conversation, we will look at the evolution (or lack there) of period technology and how Western ideology around mensuration developed. We’ll also address contemporary issues such as period shaming, access to education, and health risks.

Oh, and we say “we” … we mean YOU! Not only will we have an expert panel assembled to talk about these issues, but during the event audience members will be invited to rotate in and out of panel conversation.

The event is FREE! We encourage you to bring unused, wrapped menstruation products to help local non-profit Project Period.
