This tour, led by Denise Hoffman Brandt and Catherine Seavitt Nordenson, will visit three sites in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, installing commemorative plaques for a Bee Swarm at South Street Seaport, a Minke Whale at the Gowanus Canal, and a Bat Condo in Carroll Gardens. Speakers and performers will include Andrea Parker of the Gowanus Canal Conservancy.
All sites will be accessed via public transportation: MTA subway and bus and NY Watertaxi. Tour participants without a monthly MetroCard will receive a one-day unlimited MetroCard. Watertaxi fare will be provided. Meeting point: South Street Seaport, at the intersection of Fulton and Front Streets. Tour departs promptly at 3:00 p.m. End point: Smith Canteen in Carroll Gardens.
