Event description

Description

We’ve been living in a social and political system that rarely treats women equal to men. And yet, women have stood up for the moral issues of the day through the centuries: independence, civil rights and equal rights. What are the moral issues facing us today that are on par with these? If Alice Paul, Susan B. Anthony, and Eleanor Roosevelt were alive today, what would they be fighting for?

Using the strength of the characters in “We Did It For You!,” participants will address the personal resistance they encounter as they work for social justice. For a better democracy, it’s in everyone’s interest that women are part of the leadership and backbone of the future—to be true to the sacred trust we have been given by our foremothers.

Facilitators:
Thea Iberall, Ph.D.
, playwright of “We Did It For You!” has been producing the play since 2011 as well as conducting classroom play-readings and discussions for high schools, colleges and women’s organizations.

Shirley Riga has been performing in the play since 2010. She is a seasoned workshop facilitator and spiritual guide, and licensed trainer for Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.
