Join a community of your peers who are committed to the development of a better world by building bridges between diverse perspectives and differing opinions in order to develop solutions cooperatively, instead of through activism by opposition. Following on events in Washington DC, San Francisco and London, our movement's founder, Chris Heuer, will briefly share his vision for We Are the Solution and facilitate one of his signature unconference conversations, a BrainJam, to connect you with other people, ideas and resources that will help you to accomplish your goals and create the change you want to see in the world.
What does that mean? Well, to put it simply, we are building a community of communities for leaders, concerned citizens and others interested in social good so that we may help each other in ways big and small. So it's a kind of networking event with a specific emphasis on ASKING for help from each other and finding opportunities to share your talents by making connections that might not otherwise happen if we didn't sit face to face in conversation with each other.
We held our first BrainJam just over 10 years ago, shortly after the first BarCamp. We are now reviving this community event with the intention of bringing technologists and community organizations and activists together to learn from each other, to help each other and to help advance our shared purpose of creating a more open, safe and collaborative world. Those first events in 2005/2006 were held in San Francisco, DC, New Orleans (after Hurricane Katrina) and other cities around the world. This gathering in Dublin is part of the kickoff of a new NGO and our events being produced in San Francisco, London UK, Dublin Ireland and Bilbao Spain.
If you are able to volunteer to help set up, promote, clean up and ultimately co-produce future events, maybe even in collaboration with your existing community, please select a volunteer ticket and we will reach out to you as soon as we can. Once you sign up, we will invite you to join our Slack community and invite you to join our Will Someone community so that you may have a better way to ask for help from others.
When & Where
We Are the Solution
We Are the Solution is a community of communities working to bring people together to create solutions to our toughest social problems through a more cooperative approach instead of an oppositional one. We spend so little time understanding what we have in common, only focusing our attention on the differences, that we no longer see our common humanity. By shifting a focus to collaborative solution development instead of oppositional activism, we hope to advance public safety, economic opportunity and personal well being for all. http://wearethesolution.io/
