Description

We are a Prairie.

We identify many parts of the US in sweeping natural terms: the “boundary waters” with Canada, the Everglades’ “sea of grass”, the “wild west”. How do we identify north central Texas? We are a prairie: a part of the American tallgrass prairie network. What identifies this unique ecosystem and makes it so special? What challenges does our prairie home face, and what can we do to save prairie, even in the heart of our cities? Join NHG’s Dana Wilson to explore prairies and the role we play in their survival.

Be with us for this new, free class on the extreme importance of our treasured prairies.

Dana Wilson is a native Dallasite, and she attended Lake Highlands High School, TCU, and UNT. She is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program and the Dallas chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas. With North Haven Gardens since 2016, she has shared her Texas native expertise as Garden Advisor and speaker, and currently functions as Events Coordinator, handling all of NHG's private events.
